The queen of minimalism, Jil Sander founded her namesake label in 1968. Renowned for her pared-down style, the Jil Sander label was largely responsible for popularizing the pure, minimalist "less and luxe" style that defined the nineties. Featuring sleek tailoring, luxe knits and silk dresses, Sander marries a monochrome color palette with splashes of color. In Spring 2006 Belgian menswear designer Raf Simons joined the label as creative director, maintaining the brand's house codes yet adding architectural definition and flashes of bold colors. Take the pain out of bad hair days with Jil Sander's collection of hats, featuring luxurious cashmere and wool beanies in neutral hues.
