Formerly revered as one of the most innovative designers of luxury handbags, Carrie Forbes has since turned her hand to a line of footwear. Continually drawn to the art of handcrafting products, as seen in her hand-crocheted handbags, this same interest is applied to the designer’s footwear. Made using hand-weaving techniques indigenous to Morocco, the first collection came in the form of woven raffia shoes. Using a laborious technique that sees a day spent crafting one shoe, before it is treated with oil and water, each Carrie Forbes design is the result of a painstaking and meticulous process.
