Founded in 1945, Brioni was created by Nazareno Fonticoli and Gaetano Savini. Fonticoli, renowned for his tailoring skills, opened their first store in 1945. Brioni's name comes from the Italian name for the Croatian island group, the Brijuni islands and their first show was held at menswear capital, Pitti, in Florence. Their current collection has a myriad of staple items in terms of single-breasted wool suits, straight jeans, piqué cotton polo shirts and spread collar shirts. The outerwear includes everything from leather jackets and quilted down jackets to hoodies.
