Graduating in fashion design in 1982, he launched his eponymous label in 1987, and his fitted, rock-star silhouettes earned him much acclaim, leading him to dress stars from George Michael to Madonna to David Bowie. Recent seasons have seen the designer riding upon the wave of a resurgent glamorous rock and roll style, with body-conscious mini dresses teamed with spray-on jeans and 70s style sheepskin coats. And, with his collections earning more plaudits than ever, Milan’s resident rock and roller is certainly here to stay.
