SALES SEASON 2020
Fashion shoppers are being more mindful of their shopping habits; there has been a 102% increase in pieces being saved on wish lists year-on-year, suggesting a less impulsive buying behaviour. Based on global search and sales data, we predict these three key shopping patterns will dominate this year’s biggest sales season.

Pageviews of puffer coats and jackets have risen 61%, led by increased demand for practical outerwear. Six of the top ten most saved items on shoppers wishlists over the last week have been outerwear pieces as well as comfortable boots, including The North Face, Moncler, Grenson and Hunter.

Stay at home remains the greatest influence in driving shopping habits; pyjama sets, sweats and slippers have seen the highest demand during the past couple of weeks (+174% collectively). “Silk” and “cashmere” are the most commonly used terms when searching for pyjamas and knitted co-ords, while Ugg’s slippers have been saved over 10,000 times in shopping wish lists since this weekend.

Shoppers are more likely to have a brand in mind when searching for sneakers on sale. Designer brands have seen the biggest spike in searches, increasing 33% over the past week. Sneakers by Golden Goose, Alexander McQueen and Gucci are the most viewed.
