SKIMS in the Olympics: Global searches for Skims’ pieces went up 112% in less than 48 hours after Kim Kardashian announced on social media that her brand Skims will supply the official underwear, loungewear and nightwear for the female members of Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. Bras have been particularly popular amongst shoppers, as demand for them increased by 75% after the announcement. Skims’ soft lounge slip dress is, at the moment, the most wanted piece for the brand on Lyst.

Tyler, The Creator: Following the release of his album “CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST”, rapper Tyler, The Creator’s preppy style is making waves amongst his fans. Over the past week, we’ve noticed a growing interest for leopard-printed knitwear (+54%) and pleated pants (+18%), while demand for Tyler’s GOLF Le FLEUR* footwear line increased 38%. Moreover, searches for Ushanka hats increased 14% week-on-week after the rapper wore one to the BET Awards 2021.

Versace girls: Global searches for Versace grew 19% this week, thanks to Zendaya and Dua Lipa. Following Zendaya’s appearance at the BET Awards – where she wore a vintage Versace gown – searches for the brand’s dresses spiked 122% within 48 hours. Meanwhile, preview images from Versace’s fall 2021 campaign featuring Dua Lipa caused a 23% increase in page views for the brand’s pieces, compared to the previous week.

Anklets: Searches for anklets have been increasing since May and they’re currently up 23%. Although shoppers are predominately looking for gold and silver anklets, they are also saving sea-inspired anklets, such as “shell”, “pearl” or “beaded” styles to their wish lists. Collectively, searches for these have gone up by 43%.

Gradient print: After tie-dye, the gradient-effect print is rising in popularity. Searches including the term “gradient” increased 15% over the past month whilst searches for “gradient tops” went up 13%. Other popular categories include sneakers, shirts and dresses.
