Tory Burch launched her namesake line in 2004 and it has since become hugely successful contemporary womenswear and accessories label. The label gained almost instant notoriety after a glowing endorsement from Oprah Winfrey in 2005. The Tory Burch vision is often described as ‘preppy-boho’ and often features caftans and embellished cardigans as well as bold prints.
Her designs are now known for their ‘T’ logo medallion which features heavily on her footwear line. In 2008 Burch won a highly coveted CFDA for Accessories Designer of the Year, beating Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs. The label now produces jewelry, handbags, shoes and swimwear in addition to the ready-to-wear line.▼
