Rick Owens
American fashion designer Rick Owens launched his eponymous label in 1994. However it wasn’t until 2002 when Owens won a CFDA award for new talent and moved his brand to Paris that the label really took off. The Rick Owens look is often described as ‘glamour meets grunge’, his tradmarks include leather jackets and easy to wear separates all with a white, black and grey colour pallet. There is always something mysterious and unexpected to a Rick Owens collection, Owens has said that he continuously wants to create something ‘sweet but kind of creepy’ and it this enigmatic edge that makes his clothes so desirable. Rick Owens has since expanded the brand into many other lines including furniture, denim and fur collections.▼
