About Oscar de la Renta
His interest in fashion started when he began sketching for Spain’s couture houses and this soon led to an apprenticeship at French fashion house Balenciaga. In 1965, Oscar de la Renta launched his eponymous line, which quickly won him a slew of awards from the Council of Fashion Designers of America and secured his place as an acclaimed international designer. The designer dressed former first ladies Jackie Kennedy and Hillary Clinton, and was synonymous with elegantly feminine designs. Look to the Oscar de la Renta label for luxurious evening gowns and flattering dresses which often feature full skirts, cinched-in waists, soft hues and floral patterns.
