Opening Ceremony
The idea behind Opening Ceremony is unique: much like the Olympics (from which it takes its name) the brand represents different fashions from a different country each year. To accomplish this, owners Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, travel the world scouting out individual shops and off-beat designers to sell in their stores located in New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo. Lim and Leon always make sure to pick one well-known designer who is the focal point amongst about nine unknown, smaller designers. The duo are known to pick avant-garde pieces from designers such as Hussein Chalayan, Comme des Garcons, Vlas Blomme and Bless. No one does individuality and collaborative design quite like Opening Ceremony.
