Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs founded his namesake line in 1986 with his business partner Robert Duffy. He was promptly awarded with a CFDA Perry Ellis award for New Fashion Talent, being the youngest designer ever to win this. Jacobs is one of the most exciting fixtures on the New York fashion scene always surprising by producing unexpected, unpredictable collections. He draws inspiration from many diverse areas; past collections have been both dark and layered as well as delicate and feminine. But whatever he produces its sure to be a hit, more recently he has expanded the brand by creating the diffusion line Marc by Marc Jacobs and has since opened a bookstore. Latest collections have placed more attention on urban femininity with intricate floor length gowns being combined with day-wear.

In April 2010 Marc Jacobs was featured amongst Time magazine’s most 100 influential people in the world. His impact on the fashion is clearly undeniable as he continues shake up the fashion world each and every season.
