Emilio Pucci
Italian politician Emilio Pucci launched his eponymous label in the fourties, He originally set out to revolutionize ski-wear and his sleek winter styles soon caught the attention of Harper’s Bazaar photographer Toni Frissell who greatly admired his innovative use of stretch fabrics. Soon the now iconic kaleidoscopic prints became the Pucci trademark, and now the label has expanded enormously, creating everything from swimwear to home decors. In 2009 former Ungaro designer Peter Dundas took over as creative director, developing the bold Pucci style. He has reworked classic Pucci signatures such as floor length gowns and colourful party dresses by reinventing the prints using bleaching, tie-dye and batik techniques.▼
