Originally founded in 1952 by designer hubert de givenchy, this french fashion house is known for its modern take on classic feminine styles. Since its founding, the lines has become a favorite among the hollywood set, including the designer's muse audrey hepburn and costume designer edith head, and well-known families that span from the guinnesses to the kennedys. Today, after legendary designers john galliano and alexander mcqueen took turns heading up the brand, in 2005 riccardo tisci who took over the reigns as chief designer. That same year, givenchy relaunched their collection of menswear, which tisci now oversees as well. The look remains modern, weaving a dark, gothic and ultimately feminine undertone through givenchy's read-to-wear, haute couture, and accessory collections.
