Tunisian born Azzedine Alaïa began his career working with many major fashion houses such as Guy Laroche, Christian Dior and Thierry Mugler. Using the experience he had gained he opened his own boutique in the late 1970’s which soon became popular with much of Hollywood’s elite including Grace Jones and Janet Jackson. By the eighties Alaïa was labelled the ‘King of Cling’ because of his signature body-con dresses which marked the style of the era. In 2000 he signed with the Prada group, which hugely revived the brand through chic accessories and statement shoes; he subsequently bought back his label in 2007. This season head to Alaïa for animal print totes, handcrafted heels and irresistible snakeskin sandals.
