Established in 1988 in Tokyo, Zucca is the Japanese clothing label that was founded by the designer Akira Onozuka. Inspired by everything from literature to travel, his designs see him experiment with volume to create three-dimensional pieces that are more closely affiliated with art than fashion. Function remains at the heart of the designs though, with simple silhouettes given an edgy overhaul in the detailing. The label's line of tops is a perfect example of the Onuzuka's experimental techniques. Drapery, tailoring and ruching are used to create a sense of proportional dimension, detailed with statement designs and vibrant hues.
