Echo Park-based jewelry designer Kristen Levy got her first taste of design. Exploring the jewelry boxes of her mother and grandmother, she would rework broken jewelry into pieces for herself. Her passion for jewelry continued into adulthood, where she launched a small collection of unique pieces in 2005 under the name Kristen Elspeth. Drawing inspiration from Native American design, the brand also incorporates North American and African porcupine quills into many of her stunning pieces. The quills represent trust, innocence and intelligence as well as a symbol of protection from dark spirits. Kristen Elspeth's collection of jewelry ranges from bracelets to necklaces, in 14 karat gold.
