Choose a low-temperature spin cycle on the machine, or hand wash in water that is cool or tepid. Leave to soak for no more than five minutes, and rinse well. It is best to avoid tumble drying silk, and to air dry away from direct sunlight instead. If machine washing is advised on the item’s care label, choose a gentle, lower-temperature spin cycle.
