Stylist-turned-designer Sara Beltran began her fashion career in New York. Based on a love of beach life and seashells going back to her childhood, Beltran started out making shell necklaces for fun. Now Beltran boasts her own jewelry line, Deszo, which is Latin for "desire". Today, Beltran continues to draw inspiration from the ocean for her pieces, spending time traveling to different beaches around the world. Deszo by Sara Beltran jewelry incorporates raw materials such as polki diamonds, kyanies stones and fossilized sea shells. Many pieces are created from shells Beltran finds, by making a mold and then casting in 18-karat gold. Colors are inspired by the ocean too, with grays, blues, greens and turquoises recurring throughout the collections.
