I was searching hard for the ultimate pair of Western work boots, attractive yet tough and robust enough for daily work with horses. I am in the U.K and this was a slightly tall order as it is far easier to find fashion boots over here. After doing lots of research, I gave in and ordered these babies from the USA. I read they were on the larger side so sized down a 1/2 size from my go-to trainer size. When they arrived they were HUGE on my narrow feet, I had to return them to the States and exchange for another 1/2 size down. However, when this new pair arrived they were utterly spot on for me and I felt it was worth all the stress and money exchanging them. I love the fact the shaft isn't too high, they work beautifully for a shorter girl. These boots are quite heavy and clunky at first but simply get more and more comfortable as they break in. I gave them a good oiling which did initially darken and shine them but also softened them considerably and aided in the breaking in process. After a few days the oil soaked fully into the leather and they returned to their original, stunning distressed look. These boots are too cool, the chunky style gives them a bit of a biker boot edge. They are tough, if a horse steps on them no problem! Happy toes, happy boots. I also find these give me super ankle support, my ankles often buckled on the very stoney paths round where I live and work but no longer with my trusty Roughstocks on. I rotate these with my Ariat Heritage R toe boots, another super boot. When either pair of boots is having a rest day I slip a cedar wood shoe tree into them to wick away moisture and keep them smelling beautifully fresh. I have been wearing a pair of roughstocks for years. Darn near every day. They were a wonderful comfortable fit from day one. I have finally worn a hole in the upper and needed to get new boots. So I ordered exactly the same thing. Still a beautiful fit right out of the box. The only problem is that the leather is imperfect. There are range marks that have been waxed over in the leather and a thin spot or two. Also there are a couple of ball point pen marks on them. About a half inch long. I know pens are used in leather lay out but I am surprised that this got through quality control. Since I know the leather has some flaws I don't expect for these to last nearly as long as my first pair. I didn't mind paying 70 more dollars than I paid for the first pair but I wouldn't have if I had known the leather wasn't first quality. Thanks for listening. I would recommend this product to a friend but warn them about the leather. These arrived lighter in color & larger than expected, but everything else about them is fabulous. I work 16 hour days on all kinds of terrain & have worn these boots nearly every day for the past month. They're very comfortable & seem like they will hold up well. The more they break in, the more I love them! I just bought these boots and I love them. They felt good from the first time I put them on. I rode in them today and they are super comfortable. I love the ATS support system; I have worn it in the Ariat Terrain boots but these cowgirl boots are every bit as comfortable. I've had these boots for about 3 years now and have done numerous things in them, like farm work and riding. Granted, I don't do this every day, but they've held up so nicely. They're comfortable, and they're they perfect boot for any job you have. The only thing I have to complain about is that they're a bit heavy, but as durable as these boots are, I don't mind it at all. I have had these boots for four years now and they have held up better than any other boots I have owned. I use my boots on a daily basis. I am normally very picky about my boots but I like the simplicity of these. Normally boots only last me about six months before they start to break, but these boots are extremely durable. They are well worth the money, would defiantly give these a try! I have had these for over a year and they are the most worn in my boot collection. I bought a 10 wide and it was true to size and did not have to break them in. Also like the fingerholes to put them on easier. These boots fit like a glove, great arch support and super comfortable. I could not find another brand of boot that even came close to the comfort of these. My first pair of Ariats and it won't be my last! Love them! Color: brown
