This Very Surprising, Very Fluffy Shoe Is 1 of the Hottest Products of the Quarter

With a new quarter comes a new Lyst Index, which ranks fashion’s hottest brands and products and analyses the online shopping behaviour of more than five million shoppers a month.

This time around, while there were no real surprises when it came to the brands that made it to the top of the list, one of the hottest products of the last three months did somewhat take us by surprise: the UGG Fluff Yeah slides.

When they were first presented to the world in June 2018, UGG’s latest shoe immediately became a hit thanks to its Instagram-friendly appearance. At £120 ($100) a pop, people were equally impressed and totally confused by the fluffy Summer-sandal-slipper-hybrid, which came in four different shades and featured a thick, logo-emblazoned slingback strap. But over the last three months alone, the fun, statement-making slides have been responsible for over 20,000 online searches, thus earning the sixth place in this quarter’s Hottest Products list.

Of course, the UGG Fluff Yeah slides weren’t the only shoes to make it to the top ten. The Veja V10 sneakers — worn by Meghan Markle last October — climbed all the way to the third place, becoming the first ever fully sustainably-made product to make the Hottest Product list. And if you thought that the ugly dad sneaker trend might finally be slowing down, brands like Versace, Balenciaga, and Fila are here to prove you wrong with their own takes on chunky-soled trainers, which all made it into the top ten.

Dr. Martens also re-climbed the list thanks to its uber-cool Jadon boots, with the #DrMartens hashtag being mentioned close to two million times on Instagram over the last three months, and online searches for the English brand going up by 110% this quarter.
