Finding the perfect pair of heels 🙌 Wearing them all night 😬 That’s why we’ve teamed up with Charlotte Olympia to create Uber SHOES, designer heels complete with £500 Uber credit to get you (and your sparkly new shoes) home safely during party season. Available exclusively from Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge.
Party season is officially upon us, which means its time to ditch the flats and grab a pair of dancing shoes. And just in time, the ride-hailing app Uber has teamed up with British footwear designer Charlotte Olympia to create Uber shoes – the one-stop solution for end-of-the-night party feet everywhere.
As Uber’s first foray into fashion, the idea is simple, nobody wants to ruin their designer shoes at the end of a night out and now you won’t have to with Uber. Currently, the initiative is only exclusive to Charlotte Olympia, where each pair of the designer’s £695 shoes – available exclusively at Harvey Nichols’ London flagship will come with £500 of Uber credit, redeemable against all Uber services.
The shoe features an ultra-high, ultra-glittery platform – making this a party-perfect collab for the holiday season. “My brand motto is ‘The higher the heel, the better you feel’,” said Olympia. “And now you can guarantee that you and your dancing shoes will be looked after when going from party to party this holiday season with the touch of an app.”
Despite its gimmicky appearance, the move on Uber’s part is a smart one. The collaboration comes at a time where unexpected partnerships and cross-industry collaboration by brands are on the rise, with the door opening up for anyone and everyone to disrupt the fashion system. Last month we saw Adidas team up with Transport for London to create a pair of sneakers that came complete with a complimentary £80 worth of Oyster credit and one of the most-hyped collaborations this summer came from Wikipedia who teamed up with Advisory Board Crystals. Nobody, however, has disrupted the system more so than Virgil Abloh. With no formal design training, Abloh was appointed at Louis Vuitton Menswear earlier this year, and his own brand Off-White was one of the most influential this year, sealing the notion that you no longer need to be an expert to wield supreme influence in the industry.
You can shop the full collection from Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge now.
