The First Vegan Fashion Week Is About to Take Over Los Angeles
From February 1 to February 4, Los Angeles will be hosting the very first Vegan Fashion Week. Created by French animal rights activists and Le FrenchLab founder Emmanuelle Rienda, #VFW will comprise a speech by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Robert Lempert, runway shows putting vegan designers in the spotlight, and an exhibition on the evolution of vegan fashion. The event will also include various panel discussions regarding pressing issues faced by the fashion industry.
Set in the perfect city — Los Angeles has already banned the sale and manufacture of fur — this first Vegan Fashion Week aims to “ignite conversations and debates within the industry by educating, elevating, and drawing connections between our most important values: our respect for human life, animal rights, and the environment,” Rienda explained to VegNews.
Over the four-day fashion-meets-activism event, guests will also be able to learn more about cruelty-free beauty and food. After LA, Rienda will be taking the event for a tour around the globe, hoping to make Vegan Fashion Week the new norm.
