Selfridges Pop-up Honors The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones are the latest name to take over The Selfridges Corner Shop with a pop-up store that’s running until June 3. Open now at the retailer’s Oxford Street location, the space serves as an immersive shopping experience that celebrates the band’s No Filter 2018 UK tour. Shoppers have the chance to not only buy limited-edition merchandise but to get a closer look at band memorabilia like iconic stage outfits and instruments.

Curated by The Rolling Stones and Bravado, Universal Music Group’s merchandise company, the pop-up is also stocking official No Filter tour merchandise and an exclusive “Yellow Label” collection – a range by Selfridges and Bravado that’s seen the band’s iconic red tongue logo get a makeover. T-shirts, hoodies, jackets and kidswear are just some of the limited-edition pieces available to buy alongside lifestyle goods including homewares and stationery. But shoppers needn’t worry if they’re not in London while the pop-up is on because the range of exclusive items will be available at Selfridges stores in Birmingham, Manchester and online.

What’s more, the pop-up not only takes over The Selfridges Corner Shop but also four of Selfridges’ Oxford Street windows with special exhibits on display. These include iconic pieces from the Rolling Stones archive including a red ostrich feather cape by L’Wren Scott and worn by Mick Jagger, a matador-style jacket designed by Balenciaga, a denim jacket with the USA flag on it from the Steel Wheels 1989 US tour, and an oak leaf sequined jacket that was made for The Rolling Stones’ headline show at Glastonbury in 2013.

Other items on display within the Selfridges pop-up include the band’s first-ever vinyl box set, which can be pre-ordered ahead of it going on sale on June 15, stage outfits from the 70s to the present day, and musical instruments. Shoppers can also watch and listen to the band’s history-making Havana Moon concert from 2016 on screens and through headphones.

This is the first time a band has taken over The Selfridges Corner Shop since it launched as part of the retailer’s Anatomy of Luxury initiative earlier this year. So far, the retail space has hosted Off-White x Sunglass Hut, Issey Miyake, Maison Margiela, A.F. Vandevorst, Off-White x Byredo, Bryronesque and Lamyland. Further pop-ups offering shoppers with immersive experiences are due to run until the end of 2018 as part of Selfridges year-long Radical Luxury program.

The Rolling Stones at The Selfridges Corner Shop is open now through June 3, 2018, at 400 Oxford Street, London, W1A 1AB.
