On January 29, Lyst hosted the Fashion Intelligence Forecast in London, gathering the industry’s smartest strategists to discuss the cultural insights and new technologies shaping how we’ll shop in 2025.
Lyst’s VP Brand & Communications, Katy Lubin, introduced Christopher Morency, founder of brand strategy firm DotDotDot partners. Together they introduced ‘Product Anatomy’, a new content franchise unpacking the science behind viral items. Exploring the rise of The Row’s Margaux handbag, they previewed Margaux demand data visualisations and key takeaways from the analysis – ending with the key lessons every marketer can learn from this product’s success story. Product Anatomy will be released on February 11, on dotdottdottt.substack.com and on Lyst.
Miyon Im, Lyst’s VP Editorial and Design, and Jean Liu, VP Product, shared the latest innovations from Lyst’s editorial and shopping teams, showcasing how Lyst uses fashion plus artificial intelligence to encourage deeper discovery. ‘We don’t want everyone to dress the same’ said Jean, explaining how Lyst’s powerful suite of discovery tools empower each shopper to find their own personal style and shop with confidence.
Influential brand strategist Ana Andjelic discussed her new book ‘Hitmakers: How Brands Influence Culture’ with Kati Chitrakorn, editor of CNN style and luxury consultant for the Financial Times. They discussed the catalysts for the book, deep dived into Calvin Klein’s ads with Jeremy Allen White, and how brands can influence culture through storytelling and strategic media investment. Heading into 2025, Ana shared that she’s most excited about ‘the giant deconstruction of business models that have been stretched to their limits.’ While legacy players may be struggling, she predicted we will see ‘a change of guard; smaller companies with alternative business models doing amazing things based on product innovation.’
