Gigi Hadid Has Just Designed The Most Wearable Dad Sneakers

Over the years Gigi Hadid has proved herself to be quite the designer, in 2016, she designed a pair of boots with Stuart Weitzman, and of course, who could forget the multiple runway collections she designed with Tommy Hilfiger. And as someone who’s rarely seen not in a pair of sneakers, she’s finally putting her athleisure expertise to good use by designing her first pair of sneakers with Reebok.

The announcement took place in Japan earlier this week, with the model then confirming the collaboration by posting a photo of the black and mustard version of the sneakers on Instagram. Sharing the news with her fans she wrote “SURPRISE! #REEBOKxGIGI limited pieces drop December 7th in stores, FULL SEASON 1 COLLECTION drops Jan/Feb ‘19 !!!!! @reebok @reebokclassics more info soon x”

Gigi’s always been vocal about her love of sports and being active, so it’s no surprise that she’s finally designed her own pair of sneakers and apparel range with Reebok. “I wear sneakers both in and out of the gym. I’d rather wear sneakers than any other shoes because it’s so important for me to be comfortable. If I’m not comfortable, I feel less confident,” she revealed in an interview with Teen Vogue earlier this year. The release of the Reebok x Gigi sneakers will make up part of a larger collection which will also include everything from sweatpants, leggings, crop tops and T-shirts. Just like your favourite shoes in middle school, the 80s-meets-90s sneakers are equal parts athletic and “cool dad” shoe, taking cues from both the athleisure and normcore trends. Out now, the two colourways, black with mustard and white with raspberry are part of an initial limited release of the collection, with the first part of the release hitting shelves next month. The remainder of the collection is expected to go on sale in January or February of 2019.

Gigi has partnered with Reebok as part of their #neverperfect campaign over the last few years and in July she led the brand’s #BeMoreHuman campaign which also featured Ariana Grande and Gal Gadot.
