The Fashion Month Forecast

Data Driven Street Style Predictions

Fashion month is almost upon us and with it a fresh wave of street style looks. The Lyst data team have been analysing search data – monitoring global trends as they emerge – as well as watching hyper local, smaller spikes over the last three months. We’ve been noting the brands, products and trends that are on the rise, whilst overlaying them with products snapped up by early adopters to track the trends.
Here are twelve hot accessories and trends we predict will be lining our Instagram feeds over the next month.

Accessories

A Dior saddle bag
Dior saddle bags

A favourite with instagram stars the Dior saddle bag is instantly recognisable, plays into the logomania trend and comes with a serious dose of early aughts-nostalgia.  Over the last month searches are up nearly 1,000% on Lyst.

Chan Luu Shell Charm Necklace
Shell necklaces

Sales of shell necklaces on Lyst have risen 40% over the last two months.  Worn by Lotta-Liina Mikael, Vanessa Hong and Jeanette Friis Madsen expect to see them all over our Instagram feeds this fashion month.

Continuing with the theme of 90s nostalgia searches for anklets have more than tripled year on year.  People are also investing more with the average spend rising 108% from £38 to £79.

Apparel

Ganni silvery crepe wrap dress
Loose, flowing wrap dresses

By no means new to the scene floaty, wrap dresses have been a go to staple this summer.  Expect to see them everywhere this fashion month, particularly scandi brands Ganni and Stine Goya which have both seen triple digit increases in searches year on year.

Ganni Calla Wrap-effect Leopard-print Stretch-silk Skirt
Leopard print (everything)

Leopard print skirts have been everywhere in recent months and data shows there’s no sign of them disappearing.  Searches continue to rise, they’re currently up 30% month on month, and for many brands leopard printed skirts are their most viewed products.

Gucci Printed Tie-dyed Cotton-jersey T-shirt
Tie-dye staples

The 60s psychedelic phenomenon has been making a comeback in recent months with searches up 47% month on month.  With fashion staples reinventing themselves with a tie-dye twist, such as this Gucci t-shirt, it’s a trend street style stars won’t ignore.

Asceno Yellow Slip Dress
Bright, slip dresses

Whilst silk slips grew in popularity last year we’ve seen an increase in demand for brighter colours – ‘pink’, ‘yellow’ and ‘red’ have seen a combined increase in searches of 138%.

Boohoo designer black cycling shoes
