Graduating from Bunka College in Tokyo, the Japanese designer Junya Watanabe studied under the tutelage of Comme Des Garçons' Rei Kawakubo before launching his own namesake label in 1993. Junya Watanabe has since made reworking classic styles in its own techno and futuristic style its signature. A master of the avant-garde, the label employs dramatic silhouettes and statement embellishments to create the distinctive yet feminine and wearable clothing. Think oversized puff sleeves on a T-shirt or a patchwork skirt. Its selection of hats includes faux-fur bucket hats in animal print, tweed stovepipe hats and round top hats among the range.
