Walter Steiger

What started as a family business founded in Geneva in 1932 soon expanded into a global footwear fashion brand under Walter Steiger, the man behind the eponymous shoe brand. The first boutique opened in 1974 in Paris and Steiger’s penchant for modernism all the clean lines and sleek shapes that came with it soon made him hot property with the haute couture houses of the day, from Maison Chloe to Oscar de la Renta. Today, the label is still producing high quality footwear using traditional leather manufacture and craftsmanship contemporary inflections. Expect perspex, impossibly bright leathers, zipped heels, transparent plastic accents and unexpected shapes.
