Pro Keds

In the 1960s and 1970s, footwear brand Keds added a line of athletic shoes called Pro-Keds, specifically intended for basketball, to its range of casual shoes. Pro-Keds became an icon of American sports, especially after NBA Hall of Fame Kareem Abdul-Jabbar made Pro-Keds his shoe of choice. Born from backyards and pickup games, the distinctive Pro-Keds rose to be NYC’s playground shoe. Now, sneaker collectors around the world seek Pro-Keds. After an absence of nearly 20 years, the brand has reissued some classic styles from its archives, bringing to life the heritage and history of this athletic brand.
