Adele: Adele made history by becoming the first celebrity to appear simultaneously on the cover of both British and American Vogue. After both covers were revealed, searches for Vivienne Westwood’s corsets – similar to the custom one she wears in the British edition – jumped 73% week-on-week. Meanwhile, the green Valentino gown that Adele wears in the American edition caused a 48% week-on-week spike in searches for the brand’s dresses.

Kim Kardashian at SNL: Following her SNL hosting debut during the weekend and a series of three Balenciaga outfits, demand for the brand on Lyst grew 47% in less than 48hrs. However, it was the outfit styles that got shoppers’ attention with searches for velvet catsuits (+117%), sock boots (+61%) and the color pink (+82%) rising during that same period.

Cargo pants: The change of seasons has got shoppers looking for cargo pants. In the last three weeks, demand for cargo pants has increased by 19%, with “slim fit”, “baggy” and “utility” being the most used keywords. More specifically, it’s mostly female shoppers that have been saving cargo pants to their wish lists; up 28% in the same timeframe. Most wanted colors include black, green, blue and neutrals.

Quilted outerwear: Global demand for quilted jackets and gilets on Lyst has been growing with searches for these styles currently up 61% month-on-month. The Frankie Shop is amongst the most wanted brands; pageviews for the brand’s padded jackets have spiked 129% since September. Generally, the most sought after colors are khaki, beige and brown. Meanwhile, quilted shorts are also rising in popularity with pageviews increasing 25% this month.
