Floral summer dresses: After Kid Cudi performed on Saturday Night Live wearing a sundress by Off-White, searches for floral dresses on Lyst grew 21% in just 24 hours. The dress, inspired by the ones worn onstage by Kurt Cobain, is part of an upcoming collaboration between Cudi and Virgil Abloh. The piece also triggered an increase in searches for Off-White dresses the following day (+67%).
Sunglasses: Searches for sunglasses are up 22% week-on-week. The most wanted shapes this month are rectangular and square frame styles (+79%) from brands including Jacquemus, Balenciaga, Versace and Weekday. Meanwhile, search terms such as “oversized” and “retro” alongside square-shaped sunglasses are also having a moment; they’re collectively up 50% with top viewed brands including Gucci and Fendi.
Skater style: Fashion searches containing the keyword “skater” have increased by 46% in the last three weeks, with dresses, jeans and skirts amongst the most searched for categories. Furthermore, looking at the past month year-on-year, searches for checkered items and Vans have increased by 318% and 282% respectively. The most-wanted pieces include the Vans Era Stacked sneakers, this Ralph Lauren check shirt as well as Vans’ Old Skool sneakers.
Crochet hats: Over the past month searches for crochet hats increased 46% with bucket being the most popular style. Looking at colors and patterns, pastels and stripes are the most wanted ones; page views for striped crochet hats are up 22% month-on-month. Most sought-after brands include Wales Bonner, Anna Sui and ASOS.
Men’s sandals: Searches for men’s sandals are up 22% month-on-month. While rubber slides remain high in searches (+20%), elevated styles such as suede sandals (+22%) and chunky slides (+27%) are gaining traction among male shoppers. Most sought-after brands for sandals include Gucci, Nike and Birkenstock. Meanwhile, page views for YEEZY slides are also rising fast, having spiked 42% over the past month.
