Nigel Cabourn - mens Edmund Hillary replica parka made from khaki 100% Ventile proofed cotton, this is British Military cotton, woven so tightly that it is waterproof, as used by the RAF in WWII. The Parka jacket is based on a goose down survival anorak and is hand filled with Norwegian duck down, considered to be the best and the warmest available. This is done in the only down filling factory left in the UK and is also the same factory that all Everest expedition clothing is still made. The coat also features a tunnel hood with a sheepskin collar and coyote fur ruff with an adjustable bracing wire. An adjustable draw cord hood with wooden toggles and a contrast cream waist tie. The parka has a two way zip front, dual layer buttoned placket and two front tunnel pockets with button fastening. Internally the parka jacket has two pockets and an elasticated hem. The Edmund Hillary parka is based on the exact jacket Sir Edmund Hillary wore on his conquest of Mount Everest. His actual jacket is now housed in the Auckland Museum, New Zealand.
