Heritage Research - mens standard navy chinos based on the late 1950's style tapered slacks made famous by John F Kennedy and Chet Baker among others. After WWII many returning servicemen were sponsored by the US government to enter higher education, many of whom attended one of the eight Ivy League schools. Mixing their military issued clothing with fashion garments they inadvertently contributed to what was to become know as Ivy League or Preppy style. At this time the now classic 'Chino' pant was military issue only but easy to assimilate into a civilian wardrobe. The trousers are made from Italian chino cotton with a riri zip, front quarter pockets, buttoned flap coin pocket, cotton cambric lining, lined cuffs and two rear pockets that can be worn with the buttoned flap visible or concealed. Heritage Research clothing has been compiled for those who desire an authentic garment from a specific period but want a contemporary cut and aesthetic. That is, a garment which in design, components, and quality matches the original garment but can be assimilated into a modern wardrobe. The nostalgia behind these styles is what makes them attractive. They were born out of a time of necessity, designed for a specific purpose - to function and protect under adverse and challenging conditions. Since then they have become timeless fashion items, appealing to a rugged utilitarian image. Attention to authenticity, quality and history is the Heritage Research ethos.
