History of Womens Emilio Pucci Shoes
It was a love of the ski slopes that eventually led Italian Emilio Pucci to a destiny with fashion. A teenage member of the Italian Winter Olympics team in 1932, Pucci’s career was put on hold during the Second World War in which he played a heroic role in ensuring the escape of Mussolini’s daughter and spent time as a prisoner of war before making his own escape to Switzerland. Following the war, Pucci began designing ski suits and became known for his innovative techniques with stretch fabrics, going on to design the world’s first game-changing one-piece ski suit. In the 1960s, he went on to design collections of new uniforms for Braniff air hostesses which became so well known that the Barbie doll sported all the different variations! Moving into swimwear, blouses, dresses, and lingerie, Pucci’s signature geometric prints and kaleidoscopic colors attracted such big name fans as Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren and Jackie Kennedy. Under the creative guidance of Pucci’s daughter Laudomia and new high-profile designers, the Pucci brand continues to thrill and delight global audiences with new contemporary ranges of clothes and shoes produced in the spirit and style of the original design icon.
