History of Womens Dolce & Gabbana Shoes

Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana first hooked up in 1980 when they worked for the same fashion company. They established their own design studio in 1982 before officially launching the Dolce & Gabbana clothing label in 1985. The initial steps on the road to success proved to be very difficult. In the early days, they couldn’t afford professional models, so they instead roped in their friends who had to get changed on stage behind a cheap bed sheet. Initials sales were so disappointing that the duo tried to cancel the fabric order for their proposed second collection. However, the cancellation order was received too late, which turned out to be good news in the long-term for the designers who put the fabric to good use in their second and far more successful collection. Inspired by exotic Mediterranean styles and vintage Italian cinema, Dolce and Gabbana were originally labelled as ‘a secret known only to a handful of Italian fashion editors’, but they shot to international fame in the 90s when they worked with Madonna on the costumes for her 1993 ‘Girlie Show’ tour. Dolce & Gabbana have subsequently become a top choice for the biggest fashion icons of our generation including Missy Elliott, Mary J. Blige and Beyonce.
