Yves Saint Laurent has been the premier name in Parisian couture and fashion excellence. The famed designer started his career with an opportunity of a lifetime, being handed the designer position of Christian Dior at age 21 in 1957. After gaining a plethora of experience, he founded his own name label in 1972, which has been synonymous with trend innovation and glamorous style ever since. He passed away in 2008, and his brand has been renamed to Saint Laurent Paris in 2012 under creative director Hedi Slimane who got his start in the brand as the designer for the YSL Rive Gauche sub-label. The sub-label’s mission has been a ready-to-wear line, which it continues today incorporating all the debonair elements YSL (now SLP) has been known for.
