Michael Kors
Michael Kors, the ‘all-American’ designer, launched his label in 1981 shortly after graduating from FIT. Previous to creating his own collection he designed for French fashion house Celine, here he turned the brand around with stellar ready-to-wear and accessory lines. His vision for his own label was a luxury take on classic American sportswear, in essence he strives to create clothes that are as wearable as they are desirable. He has built up a loyal fan base with his impeccably cut wearable classics, the Michael Kors look never fails to be sleek and sophisticated. Kors has since won two prestigious CFDA awards for Womenswear Designer of the Year. Michael Kors has now developed his brand into a main accessory line, as well as successful fragrance and home wear lines. Recently Kors has become somewhat a celebrity himself thanks to his role on the hugely popular Project Runway.▼
