Spanish brand Loewe has always been know for its classic, timeless style. Launched in 1846 as a luxury leather goods establishment, the label became well known for supplying products to the Spanish royal family. During the mid 60’s Loewe expanded and was now producing fragrances as well as the menswear and womenswear lines. The brand is still best known for its accessory line, specialising in Nappa leather. In Fall 2008 Mulberry designer Stuart Vevers took over the house, continuing the focus on hangbags whilst rebranding them for the 21st century. Vevers’ lastest collections for Loewe always have a strong muse inspiration such as Paloma Picasso or Ava Gardner.
Stuart Vevers’ uniquely extensive knowledge of accessories and leather goods made him the best candidate to take Loewe into the future. Honing the essence of the brand’s history with his opulent point of view.▼
