I made my way through my first year of college on Ramon Noodles or one Happy Meal per day. That's not a joke. I feel for young women who try to look professional and polished on a budget. How to start? My rules for fashion on a budget are to purchase natural fibers and materials, such as cotton and silk. The materials last longer, tend to wear well and look good even if you've purchased at a steal. Purchase the basics first - the cardigan, the black pair of ballet slippers, the black pencil skirt, the white shirt...And for heaven's sake do not spend your hard to get money on anything torn or tattered. (That will come later). Utilize purses, bags and jewelry to add personality and flair to your wardrobe...because if you have $1 to spend, you'll need to spend it on a basic skirt that can take you from college, to work to mom's for Sunday dinner. Start with the basics and you will build a wardrobe on a dollar or a dime. Here are a few of BohoMamma's 'Under $100' on Lyst.
