Lyst is looking for a Data Developer to work on data mining, data quality, and technology partner integration. You'll be expected to build components for dealing with a dynamic product universe, move mountains of data, optimize code for performance and enact various other forms of heavy-lifting.
Our Shoreditch HQ is located within five minutes of no fewer than six of the finest flat white vendors in London. If the large, open, light, bike-friendly office isn't enough for you, head out to the larger of our two roof terraces, which is perfectly oriented for gazing over the City of London skyscrapers in order to appreciate how fortunate we are not to work there. Then pop back inside, via a kitchen stocked with fresh organic fruit we get delivered weekly, to attempt to make your way up the table tennis ladder.
Key Responsibilities
Working on innovative solutions to data issues in the online retail/social commerce space.
Being responsible for large sets of frequently updated data from a variety of sources.
Finding and resolving issues and problematic patterns within the data platform.
Furthering the functionality of high-performance, scalable and reliable systems.
Connecting and integrating with partners’ eCommerce APIs.
Building and maintaining web crawlers and scrapers.
Proactively looking for ways to improve the accuracy and timeliness of Lyst’s data.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience).
1+ years Python development experience (or 1+ years plus other relevant development experience), sound understanding of core CS concepts, data structures and algorithms.
Deep understanding of web protocols, practices, conventions and pitfalls.
Domain knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, and HTML5.
Ideally experience with API integrations and eCommerce.
