Born in India by way of Toronto and, finally, London (where he studied at Central St Martin’s) Ashish Gupta debuted his first collection in 2001. A New-Generation Award winner, his collections have made a splash with what he calls his four signatures: ‘Sequins, glamour, sportswear and more sequins.’ He transforms classic pieces such as tailored trousers and A-line skirts with an aplomb only he can pull off - and, what’s more, his bright colours, bold prints and pop-culture references have made him the toast of editors and celebrities alike, with fans such as Elizabeth Jagger and Mena Suvari.▼
